Crossette gave a nervous laugh at the growl. Things certainly weren't going as expected, but then again her oh so flawed plan was already collapsing on her before. "Y-yeah. Sorry. I s-should have said that before." she said, completely misunderstanding said growl and glare aside from the possible snack time. "A-and don't mind t-that. I-I was just t-thinking aloud. Heh... my thoughts a-are boring." This certainly wasn't the most thrilling of conversations, but seeing how she was concentrating on her composure that wasn't too unexpected. "S-so... a-are there more of y-you a-around?" the orange mare started, quickly following up in a more frantic tone with the expression to boot. "I-I mean t-those like you! I-I didn't m-mean... y-you're not a-all the same... t-that'd... I... sorry..." Well at least she stopped herself this time, calming herself enough to ask another question. Not that she had much hopes of it getting answered. "I-I know y-you don't seem to t-talk, but... what are you?"

With a roll of his eyes he watched the scared little mare try and have a conversation with him. Now- getting bored of circling her, he walked infront of her and sat down, his wings tucked in and his death glare on her. He listened to her lame babbling but when she asked the question of others, he gave a nod to her once again. His eyes rolled a second time when she tried to not make it sound rude. He exhailed, almost sighing through his nose. Boy- she was... something. When she asked the next question he thought he should answer, but his mouth didn't open at all. He stared at her. What was he? A monster! A were-pony! How could she not see this? He showed her his teeth, trying to explain then walked over to her. He placed a hoof on her flank and opened his mouth wide; he then placed his sharp teeth lightly on her back and side. He was trying to tell her that he ate ponies- if that would help. Then he let her go and backed up. Was that good enough of an explanation? Hyde wasn't so good at using words, after all.

Crossette was genuinely surprised at his first response and the reactions that followed. She never expected somepony with such primitive animalistic instincts to have much of a personality. Then again that may have come from her mistaking him for some common woodland predator. He's proven to be slightly intriguing, or rather he would be if it wasn't for the potential threat of being food. Nevertheless she genuinely hoped there weren't any others like him around, as she could barely keep herself calm around one of them. As per the latter of course she knew he was a monster, but she hasn't visited any other countries where roanwolves were terribly common outside of tales to keep little foals in at night. Upon the attempted explanation she tried to understand. 'Elongated teeth with the rest being almost as sharp...' she thought as the mental checklist began, jumping a bit as his hoof touched her. '...s-something to do with the flank...' The teeth however made her freeze in place completely. Even her thoughts stopped until it ended. Even after it took her a while to return to what seemed to be normal for her in this situation. As per continuing the list she already assumed he ate ponies, but seeing how this was a silent explanation she had more then enough right to get what he was trying to say wrong. "S-something bit your flank and caused this?" she guessed, quickly following up once more. "N-not t-that... I-I mean... I-I didn't m-mean to call y-your race a-a disease... sorry..."

After he bit her, she started to talk. A disease? A disease! This filly was getting on his nerves now. He laid on the ground and covered his face with his huge hooves before he got back up and snarled at her. He should have just killed her off and ate her when he had the chance; even if there was no chase scene. What was she even trying to do- get information for a book? Was she from a newspaper- a magazine- trying to get information on roanwolves? Or was she just a helpless little scared filly who walked into the big bad woods alone to find something but instead found him. Yep, that was probably it. He took a step close to her and loomed over her, leaning in almost. She need to change the subject- and quickly! This conversation was getting him a little bit antsy.

At his little response Crossette tried to explain herself further. "N-not t-that I think t-that. J-just a poor c-choice of words. I-I'm sure-" she started, getting cut off by the snarl. However he still did get a vocal response seeing how she was mid-sentence. It was a sort of small muffled squeak. She hoped that would simply be ignored. It didn't take long for her to notice the endless rambling wasn't likely helping matters any. Before she had a chance to try to change the topic she was being loomed over. Her composure almost completely faded at this. Her ears lay flat, her irises small, and her nervous smile gone as a result. She even began slowly backing up. Nonetheless she did still try to speak, but much like the situation before she found herself temporarily voiceless. Instead her mind raced for anything to alleviate this situation and sadly the mare could only think of one. She really hoped to avoid this, but it couldn't be helped. Her light blue eyes darted around for any movement in the bushes and upon seeing something she used a simple levitation spell to bring whatever it was over. It wasn't full proof and the little raccoon was trying to break free, but it was eventually brought over and levitated in front of the roanwolf's face as a peace offering. She even managed to force another nervous smile even if it was even less convincing than the previous one.

Her talking. It was- annoying. He stared at her, into her eyes, not looking away. Now she wasn't talking at all. This wasn't going to end wall. For her that is. He smirked, or at least it looked that way. Dinner time, nothing else around-not that he cared-and he was getting hungry. He opened his mouth, drool slipping out of his mouth, falling to the ground. It wasn't until he saw the fillies horn glow. What? What now? He glared at her, closing his mouth. Soon enough, a raccoon was in front of his face. A raccoon, what was she doing with it? It didn't make any sense. A peace offering maybe? A distraction. Hyde took the raccoon with his mouth, snapping its neck quickly. He then set it on the ground and started to eat it. This will pass the time, he supposed. She was stalling maybe. But for what. What a weird little pony she was. Blood was getting all over his face now; he would lick it up with his tongue, but the more he ate, the more blood would appear around his lips and sharp dagger teeth.

As his mouth opened any semblance of her former charade was gone. She was now actively backing away from him instead of on accident. The weak grin was basically nonexistent on execution, but at the very least he took the bait. Crossette could think of a number of ways this could turn out, but there was no way to really tell what would happen. That said she did genuinely think she'd be next unless she found another creature. As such she scanned the area for any movement, but taking her eyes off the disgusting sight that was snack time was rather difficult. Quite frankly it made her sick to her stomach to see that. Surely any nearby animals would pick up on the accompanying sounds and stay a bit further away. This left her with the tactic of staying as far away as possible whilst still keeping him in eyesight. "S-so... u-um... B-bon appetit?" she said, still trying to improve the situation. If not... well... she always had the few spells she could use no matter what damage they may cause, but that was an absolute last resort.
